At this one-day event, historians of science, librarians, book historians and rare book dealers will discuss the place of libraries in the diffusion of scientific information.
A series of talks and discussion sessions will cover topics from the evolution of institutional scientific libraries to the book collections of scientists. Spanning a range of scientific disciplines, and featuring the library collections of the Royal Society alongside those of other learned societies and individuals, we aim to highlight the role of libraries in collecting, preserving and disseminating scientific knowledge.
The programme will conclude with a keynote delivered by astrophysicist and author Karen Masters.
